Summary

A Paramedic responds to Emergency calls ensuring that patients are cared for and when required transported to the best possible place for further care. Paramedics are independent clinicians and therefore can respond in solo response vehicles and discharge patients on scene when safe to do so. Paramedics will usually be crewed with either an ECA or EMT on an Ambulance to provide assessment, treatment and transport of patients.

Paramedics can progress to a range of roles including, Clinical Team Manager, Advanced Paramedic and HART.
